Dr. Mike Nehl, DDS

A 1984 graduate of the University of Nebraska Dental College. I started my career by associating with Dr. Carl Moore in July 1984. We moved to our present location in 1988. I have always stated that when I quit learning I will quit practicing dentistry. We're quite proud to be able to offer cutting edge high technology dentistry to you.

Dr. Matt Nehl

Teresa

Teresa, a North Dakota native, has lived in the Black Hills area since 1973, graduating from Spearfish High School, then National College (now NAU) in Rapid City in 1980. Teresa has worked in the dental field since 1980, and has been a dental assistant with Nehl Dental, Inc. since 1996. Teresa is certified to perform expanded functions and is also certified in radiography. She has hundreds of hours of continuing education in clinical and practice management studies. Teresa resides in Belle Fourche with her husband Brian and daughter Jordan.

Carolyn

Carolyn is a registered Dental Hygienist licensed in the state of South Dakota. She is licensed to administer local anesthesia. Carolyn's primary duties include non-surgical periodontal treatment, placing sealants, taking X-rays and diagnostic photos as well as routine dental cleaning. Carolyn has been a dental hygienist since graduating from Rose State College in Oklahoma City in 1983. Carolyn has worked at Nehl Dental, Inc. since 1999.  Carolyn lives in Sturgis with her husband K.D. They have two sons and four grandsons.

Barb

Barb moved to the Black Hills from Wall, SD and has worked in dentistry since 1975. She has worked for Nehl Dental, Inc. since November of 1988. She attended college at SDSU and worked at her hometown bank for several years before moving to Spearfish; SD. Barb's primary responsibilities are at the front desk but she has helped out in other areas of the dental office. She has attended many continuing education courses relating to her job and many other classes which have pertained to the dental field. Barb is certified in CPR and AED. Barb has two children, Tyler and Lisa.

Marilyn

Marilyn grew up near Red Owl, SD, graduated from Sturgis Brown High and then graduated from Lake Area Vocational Technical Institute in the dental assisting program. Marilyn started working for Dr. Nehl as his dental assistant the day he opened his practice. After 17 years of employment she decided to go to dental hygiene school. Marilyn graduated from Sheridan Dental Hygiene School in May 2005 and rejoined Nehl Dental in January 2006. Marilyn has lived in Belle Fourche since 1984. She has four children Jenn, Kelsey, Kyle and Jason.

Elizabeth

Elizabeth grew up in Newell, SD where she graduated from Newell High School in 2005. She then went on to attend Northwest Community College in Powell, WY where she graduated with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Photography. Elizabeth works as a patient care coordinator for Nehl Dental since 2008.

Lila

Lila Baier is a dental assistant who grew up on a ranch in south east Montana. She graduated from Harding County High School and continued her education at Miles Community College receiving a business degree in 1984. Upon graduating from Sheridan College’s Dental assisting program in 1990 she went to work for Dr. Mike Nehl.  After moving back to the area she returned to work at Nehl Dental in 2008. Lila lives in Hulett, Wyoming with husband Kirby and their two sons, Ryne and Kyler.

Rachael

Tracey

Tracey, a Minnesota native, has lived in the Black Hills area since 2004. She graduated from Lafayette High School in Red Lake Falls, MN, then attended North Dakota State School of Sciences and graduated in 1984. She has continuously practiced as a dental hygienist in Minnesota, North Dakota, Nevada, and now South Dakota. She resides in Belle Fourche with her husband Steve and German shorthaired pointer, Oakley.

Tricia

Tricia grew up in Gregory, SD, graduated from Gregory High and then attended Black Hills State University. In 2006 she graduated from the dental assistant program at Lake Area Vocational Technical Institute, she now lives in Belle Fourche and has one daughter Jordan.
