Your First Visit
At Nehl Dental, Inc. you will experience a warm welcome from our team. We would like you to know what to expect at your first visit. Take a few moments and download our patient forms, fill out the medical history and patient registration forms and e-mail forms or print and bring with you to your appointment.
When you arrive for your appointment Barb or Haley will assist you with a review of the forms and signatures. They will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Please bring your dental insurance card and list of medications.
After registering with our administrative team, you will be escorted by one of our team members to one of our operative rooms for a comprehensive oral exam. Regular checkups are essential for early detection of more serious problems. Early detection makes treatment easier, less expensive, and more effective. During your dental exam, your dentist will perform the following routine checks:
• Examine and assess oral health; check for periodontal (gum disease)
• Diagnose any existing tooth decay
• Take and analyze x-rays, which may reveal decay, bone loss, abscesses, tumors, cysts, and other problems
• Screen for the presence of oral cancer
• Verify the stability of any existing fillings or other restorations
• Please allow approximately 90 minutes of your time
Your dentist will review all digital x-rays and intra-oral photos with you and make any needed treatment recommendations. We will schedule a preventative appointment with one of the hygienists to meet your specific dental needs. Our doctors and hygienists are committed to helping you keep your natural teeth for a lifetime through regular preventative appointments.
Lastly, our team will ensure you have a cost estimate for any needed treatment so there won’t be any surprises. Insurance pre-authorizations will be completed when necessary. We will do our best to schedule treatment appointments to fit your needs.
Feel free to ask questions at any time. Our goal is to build a trusted relationship while we partner with you to maintain a healthy mouth.
